Exclusive MPBP quilting party planned to launch the #SewSocial Project

Montreal, July 30, 2013 – Renowned fabric manufacturer CAMELOT FABRICS has partnered with The MPBP to launch the #SewSocial project, a charitable cause that will provide lap quilts to Quilts for Kids, an organization dedicated to providing comfort to children of abuse and those with life-threatening illnesses.

“We wanted to work together with The MPBP organization to create a project that has purpose,” said Steve Haupt, President of CAMELOT FABRICS. “We’re dedicated to bringing diverse communities together to design quilts that are ‘sewn with meaningful messages,’ and we hope they will bring some form of comfort to these kids. We love that The MPBP is taking on such a synergistic role in this project.”

On August 4, 2013, CAMELOT FABRICS, along with The MPBP and Quilty magazine creator Mary Fons, will host an exclusive quilting party in Orlando, Florida, to initiate the #SewSocial project. Artwork, family photos, and unique messages will be transferred onto fabric that will serve as centerpieces for the lap quilts. CAMELOT FABRICS has also launched a microsite for those wishing to collaborate on ‘virtual quilts’, which will then be converted into actual lap quilts and included in the donation.

"We are truly excited about the newly formed relationship with Camelot Fabrics and the Mothers of Professional Basketball Players, Inc. Together we can show our love on a global scale with the various messages that will be sewn on the designed quilts made exclusively for the Quilts for Kids Organization.
